At Green Hour, we’re lucky to have volunteers who bring passion, purpose, and a little personality to every task. Ian has been part of our community just under year, and his energy— whether getting stuck into tackling trash or rallying friends for a cleanup — is contagious.
Ian has joined several cleanup events since 2024, and was one of our team members during the Coldplay concert booth. When Ian isn’t volunteering, he’s still outdoors—but this time, it’s for fun, whether hiking, running, or biking. During Green Hour events, though, you’ll find him elbow-deep in the gritty work: lugging around bags of trash, always with a positive attitude and a smile on his face. He’s also always on the hunt for affordable meals that balance nutrition, portion size, and price (his “holy trinity” of food).
For Ian, volunteering isn’t just a choice—it’s a reflection of his faith and a way to live out his values. He admits there's a selfish side to volunteering though: he wants to drag people along for the ride outdoors.
One of his most memorable moments? Spending half an hour sawing through a tangled mess of fishing lures during a cleanup. It was messy, tedious, but deeply satisfying.
Beyond volunteering, Ian thrives on simple pleasures: reading his Bible, hunting for budget-friendly eats, and supporting the Philadelphia Eagles. His fun fact? He can mimic a water droplet sound by flicking his cheek.

For Ian, volunteering with Green Hour isn’t just a chore—it’s about being part of a group where real friendships form through teamwork. He calls it “fun and meaningful,” a place where people come together to make a difference, whether they’re passionate about nature, enjoy meeting new faces, or are simply looking for purpose. According to Ian, there’s a spot for everyone who wants to pitch in and share in the impact.
At Green Hour, we’re grateful for volunteers like Ian, who remind us that the best change happens when passion meets action.
